On a public event, how can I limit the number of guests in a registration?

If you’re hosting a public event, guests can register themselves without being preloaded to your invite list - and you can control how many additional guests each registrant can add.

Updated this week

Setting an Additional Guest Limit

  1. In your event dashboard, open the Form Builder.

  2. In the left panel, scroll to the bottom of your form and click the Add additional guest block.

  3. On the right-hand side, open the General settings panel.

  4. Under Additional guest limit, choose one of the following options:

    • None - Guests cannot add any additional attendees.

    • Limited - Set a specific number of additional guests each registrant can bring (e.g. 1 or 2).

    • Unlimited - Guests can add as many additional attendees as they like.

Example

If you select Limited → 1, each guest completing the registration form will see a button labeled “Add additional guest.” They can use it to register one more person under their RSVP. Once that limit is reached, the button disappears automatically.

Notes

  • This setting applies only to guests who are not on your invite list, since public events don’t require preloaded invitations.

  • For private or invite-only events, you can instead control plus-one permissions from your Invite List.

  • You can customize the Button Text (e.g. change “Add additional guest” to “Add plus-one”) in the same panel for a more personal touch.

By adjusting the Additional guest limit, you stay in control of how many total attendees can register through a single RSVP - helping you manage capacity while keeping the registration process simple for your guests.
