How to Tag Guests

Guest tags are a great way to organize your guest list - for example, to group invitees by seating section, event type, VIP status, or custom categories like “After Party” or “Family.”

Option 1: Add Guests Manually and Tag Them

If you’re starting with an empty guest list:

  1. Go to Guest List from your event’s left-hand menu.

  2. Click Add guest in the top-right corner.

  3. Enter your guest’s information (name, email, etc.).

  4. Under Tags, click the + icon to create a new tag or select an existing one.

  5. Click Save to add the guest with their tag.

Once saved, you’ll see your tag displayed next to the guest’s name in the Guest List view.

Option 2: Tag Guests Already in Your List

If your guest list is already uploaded (either manually or via spreadsheet):

  1. Go to Guest List.

  2. Locate the guest you want to tag.

  3. Click on the Tags column next to their name.

  4. Choose an existing tag from the dropdown or create a new one by typing the name of your tag.

This method is perfect for quickly organizing guests who have already been added to your event.

Option 3: Add Tags When Importing via Spreadsheet

If you prefer to upload your guests in bulk, you can add tags directly in your spreadsheet:

  1. Click Import guests from your Guest List page.

  2. Download our spreadsheet template (recommended for best results).

  3. Add a column labeled Tags in the spreadsheet and include your tags for each guest.

    • You can use a single tag per guest or multiple tags separated by commas.

  4. Upload the file back into RSVPify.

The tags will automatically appear in your guest list once the upload is complete.

Tip

Tags are completely flexible - you can use them to:

  • Group guests by invitation type (e.g., VIP, Dinner Only, After Party)

  • Filter your list to send targeted emails or reminders

  • Keep track of internal notes or categories
