When enabled, anyone who opens your event link is prompted for a password before they can view anything else.
This is different from an invite-only (guest list lookup) event - password protection controls access with a single shared password rather than verifying each guest's identity individually.
Common uses include confidential corporate meetings or internal announcements, surprise parties where the link might be shared broadly, or any event where you want an extra layer of access control beyond a private link.
Where to find it
Go to Event Settings → Security.
Set it up
Enable Password Protection.
Enter your password.
Save your settings.
💡 Tip: Share the password separately from the event link - for example, in the body of your invitation rather than appended to the URL - so it isn't accidentally exposed if the link is forwarded or posted somewhere public.
Test before publishing
Open your event link in an incognito or private browser window and confirm you're prompted for the password before any event content loads.
💡 Example: A professional services firm hosting an internal leadership offsite password-protects the event page so the registration link can be distributed company-wide over email without exposing agenda details, speaker names, or venue information to anyone outside the intended attendee group.
