Create Coupon Codes

Coupon codes allow you to offer discounts on paid registrations. You can create either percentage-based or fixed-amount discounts and share the coupon code with attendees during registration.

Before you begin

  • Coupon codes are only available for events that accept payments.

  • Coupons apply to all paid registrations within an event - they cannot be restricted to specific ticket types.

  • Only one coupon code can be applied per registration.

  • Coupon codes are automatically converted to uppercase when created and redeemed.

Create a coupon

  1. Open your event.

  2. Navigate to Event Settings → Payments.

  3. Under Coupon codes, click Manage coupon codes.

Complete the coupon details

Coupon code

Enter the code guests will use during registration. Coupon codes are automatically converted to uppercase, so guests can enter them in any case.

Examples: EARLYBIRD, VIP25, SUMMER2026

Internal notes (optional)

Add notes to help your team understand the purpose of the coupon. Internal notes are only visible to event administrators and are never displayed to guests.

Examples: Early Bird Campaign, Sponsor Discount, Staff Registration, VIP Guests

Choose a discount type

Select how the discount should be applied.

Percentage

Reduces the registration price by a percentage. Percentage discounts automatically scale with the ticket price.

Examples: 10%, 25%, 50%

Fixed amount

Subtracts a specific amount from the registration total.

Examples: $10 off, $25 off, $100 off

💡 Note: If a fixed amount coupon reduces the registration total to $0, guests will bypass the payment step and complete their registration immediately.

Currency

If using a fixed amount discount, select the currency that matches your event's payment currency.

Save the coupon

Click Create to save your coupon. Once created, the coupon is immediately available for guests to redeem.

⚠️ Important: Coupon details cannot be edited after creation. If you need to make changes, delete the coupon and create a new one. If a coupon has already been redeemed, historical redemption data is preserved even after deletion.

How guests redeem a coupon

Guests enter their coupon code in the Coupon field within the Order Summary, then click Apply before completing payment. Only one coupon can be applied per registration - if a guest enters the wrong code, they can remove it and apply a different one before checkout.

💡 Planner tip: If you're offering coupon codes, add a note to your registration form reminding guests to enter their code in the Coupon field within the Order Summary before completing payment-— coupon codes cannot be applied during the payment step itself.

Suggested guest messaging you can add to your registration form:

Have a coupon code? Enter it in the Coupon field within the Order Summary on the right side of the page before completing your payment. Coupon codes cannot be applied during the payment step.

Managing coupon codes

Return to Event Settings → Payments → Manage Coupon Codes to view your event's coupons. From this page you can:

  • View existing coupon codes.

  • Create new coupon codes.

  • Delete coupon codes that are no longer needed.

Coupon details cannot be edited after a coupon has been created.

Deleting a coupon

Deleting a coupon permanently prevents it from being used for future registrations. Once deleted:

  • Guests can no longer redeem the deleted coupon.

  • If no active coupons remain, the Coupon field is automatically removed from the Order Summary on your registration page.

  • Historical redemption data is preserved. You can still identify which guests used the deleted coupon by adding the Coupon Code column to your Guest List.

Current limitations

  • Coupons apply to all paid registrations within an event and cannot be restricted to specific ticket types.

  • Coupons cannot be scheduled with expiration dates.

  • Coupons cannot have redemption limits or usage caps.

  • Only one coupon can be applied per registration.

  • Coupon details cannot be edited after creation.

💡 Planner tip: Use memorable codes that match your promotion - EARLYBIRD, VIP25, or SPONSOR are easy for guests to remember and simple for your team to reference when answering questions.
